I bought this bike in 1992 when I rediscovered cycling after a long hiatus from the activity. I mail ordered it at the time because I was unable to find a high-quality road bike in the local bike shops in the small town in which I was living. In the early 1990's, most bike shops in the U.S.A. stocked mostly mountain bikes and road racing style bikes were out of vogue.

This Shimano Ultegra equipped, steel framed, bike from Performance was an incredible bargain. It still works very well. It does have a bad case of the no-hands speed wobbles. This happens only at fairly high speeds, probably above 25 miles/hr.
