Bob Jackson Custom Commuter/Touring Bike

This is the result of my attempt to build the ultimate, at least for my use, commuter bike. It is also capable of loaded touring.

Special Tourist frame and fork from Bob Jackson Cycles in Leeds, England .

Handmade to order, silver brazed, lugged construction of Reynolds 631 tubing for main tubes and Reynolds 525 for seatstays and chainstays.
Rohloff sliding rear dropouts.
Complete braze-ons for touring: double eyes on front and rear dropouts, L&R lever bosses, chain hanger, low rider fittings, rack eyes on seat stays, 3 sets water bottle fittings.
Cantilever brake bosses.
Custom paint, chrome front fork tips and right chainstay
Shimano Dura Ace threaded headset.

Bottom bracket: Shimano UN-73, tapered square style axle, hollow spindle, ISO/English threading, 68 mm width, length 127.5 mm
Crankset: Sugino RD Crank Set, 165 mm arm length, 48 tooth
Pedals: Shimano SPD Road Touring Pedal, PD-A530, SPD clip on one side of each pedal and a platform on the other so the bike can be ridden with regular shoes or SPD-cleated bike shoes
Chain: SRAM PowerChain 830, 3/32", 8 speed with PowerLink
Chainguard: Wald, 20" (#620), chrome, modified by trimming width
Internal gear hub: Rohloff Speedhub 500/14 XC-OEM1, polished aluminum, 16T cog
Shifter and Shifter Cables: Rohloff with shifter mounted on cutoff Pyramid ATM short bar end, silver, on upright portion of stem. See this page for more information about the cable routing and problems that I experienced related to it.
